Welcome to FracSTAT. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the FracSTAT software, including its Static, Dynamic, and Uncertainty Analyzers, as well as associated documentation. By downloading, accessing, or using FracSTAT, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Software Overview and Ownership

FracSTAT is an academic and research-oriented analytical tool designed for structural geology mapping, connectivity analysis, and spatial data visualization. The software is developed, maintained, and provided by Sachidananda Mahanta at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya.

2. License and Acceptable Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and utilize FracSTAT for academic, research, and personal use. Under this license, you may not:

  • Use the software for commercial production without prior written consent.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the software, except where permitted by applicable open-source licenses.
  • Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notations from the materials.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

Important Notice: FracSTAT relies on statistical, Monte Carlo, and mathematical modeling (such as Mohr circle calculations and LHS tabulations) which are sensitive to user inputs. It should not be used as the sole basis for critical engineering or safety decisions.

The software is provided strictly on an "as is" basis. The developer makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, or fitness for a particular structural engineering application.

4. Limitations of Liability

In no event shall the developer or associated academic institutions be liable for any damages—including, but not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of profit, or field execution errors—arising out of the use or inability to use FracSTAT, even if the developer has been notified of the possibility of such damage.

5. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Use at any time without notice. By using this software you are agreeing to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms of Use.

6. Governing Law

Any claim relating to FracSTAT shall be governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
